Not sure what to say?

Mr. Herx was my English/creative writing teacher from high school at Nease in 1998/99. He fostered my creativity and introduced me to writing beyond what was necessary for school. I have always looked back fondly on how he helped me grow with my writing and to this very day, is a positive influence on everything I attempt with writing. To discover that he passed cuts me deeply. I will always take his critiques and insights with me, no matter what manner my writing must go through. He...

How has it been 11 years since you were called home? I miss you each and every day; you are never forgotten. Whenever I hear your song...I smile and sing along with Neil in remembrance of you my good friend. Rest easy till we meet again.

You've been on my mind a bunch these past few days! I still find it so hard to believe you are gone! I will never forget all our fun times in college (and even after college). Miss you always!

Fred, I still cannot believe you have been gone from us for a year now. There are so many of us who cherish our friendships with you and all of our wonderful memories of you as well. I visit with you often, when I need to vent or need a good cry and as usual, you always help me! You will never be forgotten and I want to thank you for being the angel you are and always watching over us until we meet again. Love you Fred...always!!

It has been one year since you left us and it's still hard for me to believe that your gone from this world.I know you watch over us each day and I see reminders of you everywhere I look.We miss you and love you and you will never be forgotten.

Although it's been a year in which you left this earth, you are not forgotten. You are so loved & missed by your friends at Pedro Menendez. Peace be with your family & friends & God Rest your soul..Many Blessings, grace T. Wyman

Like noone else I have ever met, Fred (Mr. Herx, at the time) believed in people. This simple gift is so rare and so powerful and oh so precious to the teenage students whose lives he transformed. I ache thinking of his absence from the classroom and especially those many missed moments with his loved ones. But I know that his belief in me nearly twenty years ago has provided such inspiration and succor, and that those closest to him must forever be lifted up by the legacy of his faith in...

Although I only met Fred once or twice, it is clear from the outpouring of affection that he had a positive effect on everyone around him. My sincerest condolences to his wife Katrina, his sons, and his entire family.

Fred was a good friend to us and we are deeply saddened to have lost him. Our heart goes out to his wife and family. Fred was an amazing man that was there to help anyone at any time. He loved his wife and family dearly and was not afraid to show it. He will be missed and never forgotten!!
