FREDERICK C. "RICK" JANTZ, age 77 of North Ridgeville, passed away peacefully January 4, 2016 at home with his family. Rick was the beloved husband of Susan (nee Shankleton), loving father of Daniel (Caitlin), Stephanie Urban (Ryan), Amy Fehribach (Glenn) and Michael (Leah); most loving grandfather of Riley Urban, Lisa, Rebecca, Juan, Havanna, and Autumn Jantz, loving older brother of Charles (Nancy), loving son of the late Frederick and Anne, and loving uncle. Rick was born in 1938 in Toledo, Ohio but spent all of his childhood and young adult years in Lakewood, Ohio. Rick was a 1956 graduate of Lakewood H.S. where he honed his athletic skills. Rick graduated from Ohio University with a business degree where he was captain of the hockey team, member of the tennis team, and developed his golf game. Rick was an outstanding amateur golfer and had many wonderful friendships on the course and where he made a hole-in-one multiple times! As a young man, Rick served our country as a member of the United States Army Reserve for six years and later worked successfully for many years in the food brokerage industry where he became the President of United Food Brokers. Rick loved his family deeply and proudly and will be missed terribly. Funeral Service Thursday. January 7, at 8 P.M. in the CHAMBERS FUNERAL HOME of NORTH OLMSTED 29150 LORAIN RD. AT STEARNS RD. where friends may call THURSDAY 2-4 & 6 P.M. until time of service.
