Freddie was a guy you couldn't help but like. He was as basic as apple pie and always had a story to tell you. I often enjoyed visiting him at his office and sharing moments with him. Fred gave of his time freely, he was a humanitarian, a guy you were proud to call a friend. He made me enjoy and like him, as he did with many others. Fred will be remembered as a Horticulturist and as a person who made Southington proud to have him around.....Bis dann Freddie

How sad we were to learn of "Opa's" passing. I really liked Mr. Kuhr - he was a hard worker, a devoted family man and a terrific grandfather to my niece and nephew. We were fortunate to see Mr. Kuhr one last time at Alex's "A Day" at West Point a couple of weeks ago. Gods' blessings and comforts to "Oma" and the entire Kuhr family.

When I heard the sirens and saw the ambulances fly by my house that beautiful morning my only thought was that someone working on the Sheldon Road bridge had been injured. The next day I learned that it was our dear friend and seasonal neighbor Fred. I first met Fred and Elke seven years ago when they started to make their summer retreat a reality.
