Not sure what to say?

So glad Fred has not been forgotten he was a good friend and I will never forget him.R.i.p. My friend

Well, I just learned of his passing from a friend. I am so sorry. My sincerest condolences to his family. He was such a great man to work with when I did safety and DARE. I will always remember that smile when I would walk into his office at Mapleshade School and he cetainly made it easier for a young office to work there. Certainly a great loss.

I am deeply saddened to learn of Fred's passing. Little did I know that when I walked into a 6th grade classroom at Birchland Park School in September 1962 what a profound influence one man would have on my life. Not only was he the best teacher that I ever had, bar none, but he later became a friend and through the years, although separated by time and life's circumstances, as an adult I have felt his presence as a mentor. Fortunately, several years ago, we were reunited in Rotary,...

R.I.P. my friend. Thanks for the memories and friendship at A.I.C. Glad I could help with the "Business Correspondence" course! (Joe Picard, AIC '60)

I was so very saddened to hear of Mr. Lafayette's passing. He was my Principal in East Longmeadow. My thoughts, prayers and deepest condolences go out to all of his beautiful family and friends. Again, i am so very sorry. Jack Evans

My deepest condolences to Mr. Lafayette family. I knew him well enough to call him by his first name, but I will not do so out of respect for the man.

My condolences to all of Mr Lafayette´s family. He was my lifeline in 6th grade at Birchland Park School during the 1964-65 school year. I immigrated from Canada with my family not knowing one word of English so I was put in his class as he understood French and could communicate with me very well. I am now going to be 70 years old this year and I must admit having a sadness that actually made a tear flow down my face. I loved him; he was an amazing educator and a pillar in our town...

To the entire Lafayette Family-
Loyal family man. Passionate educator and administrator. Understood that being a leader often meant you stood next to your team to let them function. His handshake was his word. It was an honor and privilege to have been hired by him and work along side him. His ‘brags’ about family events and accomplishments sparked that twinkle in his eyes. May his place in heaven have a spot for his favorite corvette as well. Angels beware a Mapleshade School legend has...

I am saddened to learn of Fred´s passing. I have many fond memories of working with Fred, beginning in 1971 when I was hired as an elementary art teacher for Pleasant View/Mountain View Schools. Sending prayers to his family and friends. Anita Smith-Christopher, EdD
