Not sure what to say?

I only met Fred a few times while I was buyer at Betty's Grocery Store. I knew he had done big things, and as a student at Wayne State, knew a building was named for them, and of Matthaei Botanical Gardens. Reading of his life, I wish I'd known him better and that he'd written a book. What a life well-lived!

The Green family sends their warm regards to the Matthaei's with wonderful memories from Covington Road and Birmingham days. Love, Betsy, Bill, Bruce and Bobbie Green

My condolences to his family and friends. As an alum, almost lifetime resident of the area, and longtime season pass holder at Radrick Farms, I am grateful for all of the families contributions (was not aware of the involvement with the Huron Valley Humane Society and Parker Mill). A life well lived.

I never knew you, but I am an employee at Matthaei Botanical Gardens. Thank you for all the work that you did to help make this a world class institution! You will be missed.

The 50th Anniversary of the Radrick Farms Golf Course was observed informally at the Kiwanis Club of Ann Arbor. To view the video recording of the program, log on to:

Fred was a gifted man, and I enjoyed his stories about business, engineering and the old days of politics with Gov. George Romney. I...

You will be missed, I am so glad I met you and am a part of your vision BAC.....
