I was lucky enough to play in the late '70s on the C basketball team for Fred. We weren't particularly good players, in talent far below the varsity. But Fred took us seriously, taught us the game, and poured as much effort into the team as he did for the varsity. A real mentor and a great coach. Robert Aguirre, Windsor, ON, Canada.

Fred was a classmate and dear friend, especially the last ten years. I will miss him and his boyish grin and personality. My thoughts and prayers are with him and you, Susan.

To Susan and the family of Fred Mitchell,
Many years ago I went through St. Emydius School with Fred in the class of '52. I remember him as a very nice, very good-looking boy--and yes, by age 13 he was already an avid & talented basketball player! Fred went on to inspire and help many young people. May all the good he did be a legacy of comfort to his loved ones, who will miss him so much. He and all of you are in my loving thoughts and prayers.
With sympathy for your great...
