Mr Fred will be missed by so many folks through such varied connections. It shows what an interesting person he was! I met him at the Virginia State 4-H Horse Show when you both came to visit with Helen and Missy. What a delightful and cheerful man! Always smiling, always so gracious and a true Southern Gentleman! My deepest sympathy to you and your dear family. Love Nene Estep

Dear Gaynelle and family ...
My deepest condolences for your loss. I worked with Fred for many years at Sperry (as his secretary at one point) and he was undoubtedly one of my very favorite people. I have many fond remembrances of his kind and cheerful demeanor. May God's Grace sustain you and your precious memories bring you comfort during this time of sorrow.
In loving sympathy ...

Gay,
You have my full sympathy and my best wishes for recovery from this great sadness. Fred was a top-notch Hokie and human being. He was a good friend of mine for many many years.
I lost my beloved Ruth last Dec 3 so I know there will be many very difficult days for you. Just take things as they come, grieve in your own manner and with time the sadness will go away and only the good memories will survive. Some things that now grieve you will become fond...
