Frederick DeShong Pugh, 56, of Raleigh, passed away on November 16, 2018. Fred was born in Raleigh to V. Watson Pugh, MD and Frances Plimpton Pugh on March 9, 1962. He graduated from Ravenscroft School in 1980 and NC State University in 1984. As a general contractor, he built or remodeled many homes throughout the Raleigh area. He was employed by IBM before opening a general contracting business.
Fred was a loving and devoted son, husband, father, brother, and friend. In addition to his parents, Fred is survived by his wife of 21 years, Robin Quinn Pugh; daughters, Anna Winslow Pugh, Erin Quinn Pugh; siblings, Vernon W. Pugh III, MD (Magda), Holly Pugh Johnson, MD (David), Walter K. Pugh (Joy), two nieces and three nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Eric Winslow Pugh, and special cousin, Kirk McInnis.
A funeral service will be held Monday November 26, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 121 Hillsborough St, Raleigh, NC, 27603. The family will receive friends at Tara Farm, 715 Newton Rd, Raleigh, NC, 27615, following the service. Condolences may be left at www.brownwynnemillbrook.com
Following cancer treatment, Fred experienced sudden hearing loss and felt its isolating effect.
