Not sure what to say?

I am saddened to hear the passing of Fred. I was in the band 1967 to 1970 and in his Mathematics class 1970. He was an inspirational teacher.

I spent time teaching alongside Fred at Daceyville 1980 and 1981.

I was fortunate to visit him at his home at Vincentia as late as November 2011.

He was a remarkable person who was warm, caring, generous and genuine. He has inspired so many young lives and I consider myself lucky to have known him.

What a Legend!

RIP...

Dear Mr Royal,
So sad to hear of your passing. It was only by chance that I came upon this remembrance book and I'm glad I did.
I joined the school band in 1964 or 1965 and I was only an average clarinet player. I then went on to play the flute and actually found my musical niche. After five years of study at the Con, I actually did really well.
Your inspiration as a teacher was something I'll never forget. You were strict but so patient. I too became a teacher.
I have such...

So sad to read of Mr Royal's passing. I was a student in his classes 1969-1970 at Daceyville Public School. I enjoyed his classes and his warmth as a teacher. RIP.

So sad to hear of the passing of Mr Royal, a teacher, role model, and above all a friend to all his students. I remember the warmth with which Mr Royal welcomed me on my first day at Daceyville Public, after having arrived from Singapore, where conincidentally Mr Royal had holidayed that summer. Playing in the band gave a whole new perspective to 'school'. Thanks for your great kindness. RIP.

Dear Mr Royal,

Whilst the radio at that day was ablaze with Australian Crawl, ACDC and Cold Chisel (all great Oz bands I must add), you instilled in us a wonderful appreciation and understanding of the grand tunes and compositions of yesteryear, which will always stay with us – from Duke Ellington's Sophisticated Lady, to Herb Alpert's This Guy's In Love with You and Irving Berlin's Putting On The Ritz …

My personal favourite was the big bad band Finale Of Them All …...
