Len had an Internet life over the last few years as curmudgeon and gadfly on a discussion board called Yosemite News and Discussion where I met him.

We had numerous sidebar discussions through email and learned that we had shared college years at UC Berkeley which allowed for many reminiscences and much nostalgia. He extended a lot of personal good will, corrected some of my arithmetic calculations in my posts, displayed a good-natured, teasing humor, and rekindled my interest...

Havng met and hiked with Len I will never walk another trail without thinking of him right there along me. For me, he will always be out there on the trails, just around the next corner.
