A thoughtful, considerate, and intelligent judge and person. It was always a pleasure to appear before him.

My Uncle, Urban Lester, greatly valued his close friendship with The Judge. Prior to Urban's passing, Mary and The Judge drove to the nursing care facility in Bethesda to visit Urban. It was clear to me at that time how deep the friendship was and what a wonderful couple the Ugasts were. At the end of the visit, I walked them out to the parking lot where the got into "Mary's car" as the Judge called it. They drove off with the top down on the car, waving as they went! I will always remember...

Judge Ugast was a wonderful friend and adviser to Urban and me. From Catholic University Law School to his courtroom he excelled in his legal career. Devotion to his family was his hallmark.

Chief Judge Ugast RIP, you were a very special man that cared and respected everyone.

The Judge was a truly wonderful man and I loved being around the Ugast family starting back in high school. I am so glad that I can be around to support the family this time, since I was out of the country when Mrs. Ugast passed away

I absolutely loved the Judge, from helping me with our Latin homework in high school, to traveling to Rome on the Red hat trip with both he and Mrs Ugast. They were so much fun and I always smile when I remember them both. Prayers always to such a wonderful family

Praying for all the family. Your Dad was a great Man.

I am SO sorry! Hope to see you on Monday.
Take care,
Ed Burns
