It was my honor and pleasure to work with Fred (Dr. Utech) as Lab Assistant in the Bitany Lab, and learn much from him. He was a patient teacher, and gave me many opportunities to work in the B&W photo lab, dyeing specimens of lilies to study their vasculature, and even be credited for my small contributions to his articles with line illustrations. I now live in Ligonier and will miss the opportunity to reconnect after all these years. Many hugs to his family.
