RIP my friend you will always have a place in my heart

You are truly missed RIP my friend

Thank you, everyone for your kind words. I want to add a few thoughts I received via email and text:

Gwen Mitchell Paden, a reporter at the Lodi News-Sentinel when Fred took over in 1959 ~ “Fred was pretty young to be the boss, but he had a lot of energy. He was friendly and quiet, not one to shout orders. He knew what was right and he called his own shots. He took what was here and made it into a professional newspaper.”

Jerry Frye, fellow Rotarian and skier ~ “We were...

Thank you, everyone, for your expressions of support and your memories of Dad. Since we had to limit the size of the funeral and reception, I'd like to share here a number of email and text messages from others. Please enjoy these memories of Dad,
Sincerely, Marty

Julie Gillespie ~ “He was my link to the Greatest Generation. I like to think that he is happily reading a new Danielle Steele right now.”

Catherine Gerding ~ “He was such a force of nature and left a...

I would like to express my condolences to the entire Webret family, I feel the loss of a wonderful man and personal friend for over 19 years. I know of no other who was so dedicated to me and the children of the Lodi Boys & Girls Club, he was our shinning light, I was so proud to have him be a part of my life, he absolutely made me a better person. I will always remember the Rotary meetings, the crab feed dinners, and the best of all having dinner at his home with Mrs. Webret. Fred my friend...

My sympathy on your dads passing. I hold Fred and your family in warm memories. Fred was always kind to me as a kid loitering in the Sentinel press room while I read the next days Little Lulu comic strip upside down and backwards. My dad, Paul Zimmerman, always talked fondly of Fred. Ill keep your family in my thoughts during this difficult time for you.

I am saddened to hear of your Dad's recent passing.
He gave all 3 of my brothers their first jobs as kids, as news paper carriers
He was a wonderful man and I know he will be missed.

To The Weybret Family,
We are so sorry to learn of Freds passing. He was an amazing man, a great boss, and Im sure he was a wonderful father! May God be with you and help you through this difficult time.
Jerry and Claire Tyson

Dear Jim & Marty,

My sincerest condolences. As you both know you were very fortunate to have the father you had. He was an extremely honorable and giving man throughout his life. He represented the very best of the greatest generation. I know I have nothing but fond memories of your dad. As I recall he was also an excellent diver in addition to all his other accomplishments. One memory in particular was when we camped at Masons beach and he cooked us waffles with cups full of...
