I was so sorry to hear about Fred. We grew up in the same era and had many similar memories; we both loved music and also enjoyed golf frequently. I looked forward to sharing music, ideas and memories with him on the Notation Forum. I and others there will keenly feel his absence. Having lost my wife nine months ago, I have a sense of how you hurt. I wish I knew some magic words to bring you comfort, but as little as they can do, you have my best wishes for it. . . mgj

Even though we have never met in person, I want to express my sincere condolences in your loss of Fred. He and I "met" through the Notation Software forum, where Fred has been a wonderful friend and a tremendous encouragement to many aspiring musicians, both young and old. Fred helped me out with a piano project for my aunts and uncles, and so in many ways, his life and music are still touching many lives. I don't know what to say. I'm so sorry. I'm also sorry that we can't be there for you. I remember when I was in second grade. Mom and dad went away for a weekend (it was Valentine's weekend) you kept J.D. and me. I was so afraid of those dogs! You showed me how to get along with them. I was so proud of myself because I wasn't afraid of them anymore when mom and dad got back. Fred taught me how to play checkers that weekend. He didn't let me win because he said I wouldn't...
