My condolences to his family. I knew Fred briefly in 1983, Miami, FL . I am truly stunned and saddened by his death. He was a lovely, brilliant person.

Belated condolences to Fred's family from Ty, an old friend from Fred's Key Biscayne days, who had recently reconnected with him on Facebook. I had wondered a bit what had become of him. It is a smaller world in his absence.

Living across the street from Fred and Niki for 23 years has been a wonderful, never dull experience. Walking by and chatting with Fred had become an almost nightly event. He loved his family so much. I am so sad that he has left us so soon. He won't be forgotten.- Lisa Holland

Words do not exist to lessen the pain or to give answers where there are none. Fred's passing has shaken us and has left more people than you will ever imagine being thankful for each and every day we all have in this life.
We had the pleasure and honor to meet him. He welcomed us to the neighborhood from the very instant we moved in. We enjoyed his insightful view on things big and small....always while doing yard work like it was so easy, always proud about working on something at...

Fred has been an informed and excellent colleague with which to work. I enjoyed our professional discussions and debates and always found him to be an engaged student and obvious life-long learner. He will be missed by those who had the opportunity to share in his intellectual curiosity.

All my sympathies and best wishes to his wife and daughter, of whom he spoke often.
