I've just learned of Fred's passing. We first met when he served as my academic advisor at SUNY Cortland in the mid-1980s. I'm so grateful for the insight and encouragement he offered aat each of our many meetings. Fred was my very dear friend, I loved him and I miss him.
When I read his obit, I saw stories yet to be told; I didn't know he went to B.U I'm a volunteer and patron at the symphony because of Fred. He got an extra ticket when he volunteered, so invited me to the symphony many, many times.
