Dearest Goldstein Family,
I am so saddened to learn of Fred's passing. I spent time at your home- even going out trick or treating with Mindy (or was it Laurie?), and bringing into your lives, Muffin. Fred was a wonderful compassionate man, from whom I learned a lot- especially geology! I am still teaching today, and there isn't a time that doesn't go by when I don't think of Fred and learning about rocks and minerals and sharing that love of learning with my students. I grieve for the...

I "worked" under Fred as a counselor at Camp Hillcroft ('78 and '79), where he and Barbara were the head counselors. I knew his daughters from there also - what a lovely family! Fred was a great guy. I would like to get in touch with Barbara. Please email me.
May the wonderful memories you have of Fred help you during this difficult time.

To the Goldstein family, I was a TSC music major who signed up for geology kicking and screaming. Then I met Prof. Goldstein! What a wonderful time I had in his class, and learned so much too. As a voice major, I really loved singing along with all his records on lab day. He was one of the best profs I had in any dept.; he was both erudite and kind. My sympathies to you in your immense loss.

The double rainbow was another warm and comforting nod from Fred as we arrived at the home of our BFF to begin a week of mourning. We are all going to be ok because of the love that remains here surrounding us. We are so blessed.

I have been blessed with the gift of having Fred, Barbara, Mindy, and Laurie as my extended family! With quiet voice, Fred inspired all of us to experience life with insight and love. Fred, you are a "home run" champion. Reside in your heavenly home knowing you "scored" big time as friend to all and within your family as husband, father, brother, and uncle....Hugs to the entire family.

I too was one of Dr. Goldstein's students at TSC and was also a non-science person. I enjoyed his class immensely and especially all of the records he liked to play in class to keep it interesting.
He really was a great teacher and noone who took one of his classes would forget him!!

I had the pleasure of being a student of Dr. Goldstein's Geology class in the 80's. I had just returned from a trip to the Grand Canyon when I took his class in the fall, so I was "primed" to study rocks. He had a great sense of humor and I always looked forward to his class. I still have the paper that I wrote about New Jersey's Piedmont Plain and the fossils I brought to class to examine. My prayers go out to his family.

During my Trenton State College years in the mid-80's, I had the pleasure of taking Dr. Goldstein's Geology class. As a non-science major, I thought it would be a boring class, boy was I wrong! Dr. Goldstein made the class fun, interesting and a pleasure to attend. He had such a great wit and I have fond memories of him. His class is the only science class that has stayed with me all these years. I was very sad to hear of his passing. My thoughts and prayers go out to his whole family.
