Not sure what to say?

I just heard the sad news tonight – many months removed from the immediate shock and sorrow. I know Erica and their wonderful family will carry forth Fritz's unmatched spirit of inner strength and outward vitality. I hope to see them soon as they live and flourish in his memory.

The brothers of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia would like to convey our deepest simpathy in your loss. Fredric was one of us in music and it certainly is a sad day for all of us.

Dear Erica and Family - I went to Eastern Montana College of Education (now called Montana State) in Billings MT with Fritz and was in a musical "Our Town" with him & in Spanish Class with him. He was such a wonderful person, such a kind heart and gentle person. I know you will miss him so much. I was reminded of him when I just attended my Class Reunion in Billings and drove by MSU and wondered what he was doing. So I google searched and found his name at University of Hartford and...

Fritz was a great friend for many years, starting in 1969 as colleagues on the music faculty at the University of Northern Iowa and then we got together regularly when he was at teaching at Eastern Michigan University, Simpson College and University of Iowa.

I fondly remember going to the Detroit Auto Show with him followed by pizza and seeing the film Woodstock in downtown Detroit. We also saw the Godfather in Detroit the first weekend it opened. He had the most wonderful...

Dear Erica and family,

Fritz Moses came to Las Vegas two times. The first time was in 1982 as guest soloist in a performance of Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle by the Musical Arts Singers. As I recall, he was also very helpful in coaching my singers in that work. In 1991 he returned to Las Vegas to sing the solos in Mozart’s Thamos, Konig in Aegypten and the Theresienmesse by Haydn in a performance by the Southern Nevada Musical Arts Society.

I am very saddened to learn of Fritz Moses' passing. I studied with Fritz for four years from 1995 to 1999 at Hartt. Although he probably didn't know it, he was somewhat of a father-figure for me during college and I feel guilty that I never kept in contact with him after I graduated. He influenced every part of who I am today, from my vocal technique to my sense of personal responsibility and ethics to my pedagogical methods with my own students. Although I only ever knew Alita, I wish...

I am tremendously saddened today to learn of Fritz's untimely death.

Fritz was a hugely important person in my life. I met him in 1992, when I was in my mid-20s, when he sang in a concert at Emory University, where I had recently graduated from college. Ann Jones, who had been my choir director there, introduced us. I remember being compelled by his singing, and later, by his very life force.

In the studio, Fritz was brilliant and energizing (although I know he'd...

Dear Erica,

My name is Sean Burton and I was a student of Mr. Moses from 1998-2000 during the latter part of my undergraduate degree at Hartt. As far as I know I was the only music education major Mr. Moses ever accepted into his studio and I am forever grateful for his willingness to teach me. When I learned of Mr. Moses' passing I was incredibly saddened, especially since he was so young. I lost both my grandparents in the last month though they were 89 and 94 and were most...
