Keith Funeral & Cremation Services - Hilton Head Obituary

Fredrick “Fred” Wayne Eberting, 80, passed away on January 25, 2022 in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.

Fred was born in Clinton, Missouri on September 11, 1941, the son of Robert and Clara Eberting.  He graduated from Clinton High School in 1959 and attended Central Missouri State University, graduating in 1963 with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration .  While in college, he met his wife of 58 years, Sandra Jennings Eberting.  He was a veteran, serving in the Army Reserve for 6 years.  They raised their children, Jeffrey Eberting, and Lisa Eberting Wilkins in Kansas City, Missouri  while Fred worked for Hallmark Cards, and then in Allentown, Pennsylvania when Fred was with Crayola Crayons and Kistler-O’Brien Fire Protection.

Fred had a zest for life and for adventure.  A frequent traveler, an avid golfer and skier, and a loyal friend to many, Fred will be missed by all, but especially by the love of his life, his wife, Sandy.  He is survived by his son, Jeff Eberting and wife Virginia of Knoxville, Tennessee, and his daughter, Lisa Eberting Wilkins and husband Peter of Chicago, Illinois.   He had five grandchildren whom he adored: Jaclyn, Juliana, and Jeffrey Eberting, and Owen and Max Wilkins.  Fred was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Clara Eberting and siblings Robert Jr., Martin, Roberta, Darold, and Shirley.
