Not sure what to say?

One of the most visible members of our high school class, Fred Sanders was extremely popular. He was a friend to every Delone Catholic High School Class of 1954 member. We were deeply saddened when he failed to attend the last two reunions with his tremendous supply of Hershey Kisses. His positive attitude toward life was contagious despite his own hardships-a truly great friend to so many people, young and old.

Dr. Sanders was one of the true greats of HACC his lasting legacy of little to no technology in his classroom Arts 210 will forever reign supreme in my memories. I enjoyed hanging out with Fred going to Shady Maple or the Eagle, his stories and legacy will forever reverberate in my soul.

Fred was so much fin to have at our McMaster Family Reunion every year! I remember Fred by his big smile and his crazy pants he wore every year to the Reunion. Covid stopped us from having our Reunion and we lost track of our cousins who did not live close to us. Dianne, may you know how much joy he gave our family on those Sunday. Rest In Peace, Fred!

I first came to know Fred while a student and band member at Shippensburg State Teachers College in 1957 where he played the base drum. Fred was a character to remember, and an entertainer on band trips to away football games. I was pleased to meet him again when I joined the HACC faculty in 1969. Again after retiring, Fred was part of retirees that met at the Eagle Hotel on Monday evenings for dinner and conversation. In the years that I knew him, Fred was a quality individual, a...

I am so saddened that we were not aware of Fred's passing. We always enjoyed seeing him at the Reunions. We'll miss you my friend~~

I had Dr Sanders for a speech class in the 90´s at HACC. Loved his class. Excellent instructor.

When I was first hired to teach at HACC many years ago Fred was assigned as my office mate and also as a kind of colleague mentor for me as a new instructor. What a unique mentor he was! He was knowledgeable, helpful, authentic and funny. I learned a lot from him. He knew a lot about the College, its unique history, and the people in it. What a resource for a new beginner! Bold, quick witted, even flamboyant at times, he was a dependable, friendly presence. Fred Sanders will always...

I had Dr Sanders for speech when I was a very backward, shy 19 year old. I almost quit HACC because of the dreaded speech 101 requirement. Getting Dr Sanders as my professor was a godsend. He made the class fun and relaxing. Years later I worked at HACC, and he was always one of my favorite people. What you saw was what you got with him. Very fun-loving and personable.

Dr. Sanders was an amazing educator! I was sent to him after failing speech class three times, once at Penn State, once at Shippensburg University and again at HACC, with a different teacher. Dr. Sanders taught me that we put on our costumes and choose our role each day. He taught me that anything is possible. My time in his class was so rewarding that I went on to take his class in the psychology of speech. I did finally graduate and went on to a career where I had to speak numerous times to...
