Fredrick V. Wakeling, 99, formerly of Philadelphia, died June 29, 2020 in York. He was a U.S. Army veteran who proudly served during WWII in the Asia-Pacific Theatre of Operations (Philippines, New Guinea). He retired from sales and finance in the automotive industry.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Fredrick Cyril Wakeling and Alice Maude (Bird) Wakeling.
He is survived by eight children, Victor K. Wakeling, Mary Lynne Lyons, Richard C. Wakeling, Gregory J. Wakeling, Lauren Oerkvitz, Kimberly Webster, Margaret Weideman, and Kevin Wakeling; 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by siblings, Edna (Chillmaid) Hampton, Donald Wakeling and Kenneth Wakeling and one grandchild Michael Lyons.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
