Not sure what to say?

Mrs. Starr -- What a wonderful person who was dear to many, many folks here in Ohio! She worked tirelessly for Stebbins High School and truly made a difference in many peoples lives. I will always remember her with a smile on her face. Her mother was my 5th grade teacher and their family made a point to have each child in class visit spend a night at their Springfield farm.

There are several friends of "Grandma" Starr here at the Family History Library who just heard of the passing of Lucille and were sorry to have missed the funeral. They all talk about how dear she was to them and what happy memories they have of the time spent together. To all of us, she was a true friend. May the Lord bless her family with His peace and comfort and the joy of knowing she has served her Master well. Sincerely, Charlene Leach

Just learned of Mrs. Starr's passing today (11/17) from a fellow classmate at Mad River Elementary in Dayton, Ohio. Was truly saddened to hear this news. I know she has a special place in heaven. She was such a dear sweet person and my all-time most favorite teacher. You not only learned your school lessons in her class, you also learned "life" lessons: etiquette, manners, courtesy to others, etc. I will remember her always.

Mrs. Lucille Starr....that is one name that is legendary in Mad River Township Schools in Dayton, Ohio. Those of us who were privileged to have enjoyed her as a teacher will always remember her genuine love for others, and her heartfelt concern for each and every one of her students. She not only educated us, but she nutured us with compassion and generosity. She was truly all about people, and she gave of herself tirelessly. She was a gift from God. I will always hold memories of her dear in...

Oh, how we loved Grandma Starr! We met her several years ago and she immediately 'adopted' us, our children and our grandchildren. She ALWAYS had kind words to say about everyone, wouldn't complain no matter how bad things got. But she always made you 'sit and stay awhile', always had a snack of some kind to share with you and cute little things she had printed off. We think about her often and will really miss her. May she be on the welcoming committee when we go home! Jerry and Brenda
