I am a member of Christ Lutheran Church and I was one of the lucky one's in the rotation to drive Fred to church at least once a month.
His recollections of history were astounding. His love for his family and for God were always on his lips. His skill in the violin was a treat every time he played.
This world lost a great man, but I know we will all see each other again.

Dear Staber Family,

I am sorry to hear about the passing of Fred. I had the pleasure of knowing Fred for over ten years. We were neighbors on Griswold Street (we live across the street from Fred). In our family Christmas tradition, my wife would bake all day and my daughter, Kristen, and I would deliver the baked goods to our neighbors. When my daughter and I made it over to Fred's house, he would invite us in and we would talk about what has been going on in our lives. He...

Prayers and thoughts are with you. I was a caretaker for you father at HOP and wanted you know what a great gift it was in knowing in him. He touched my heart in so many ways. Fred was a very special person. We would sit at night and look at pic's, he was so proud to talk about each you. He is now where he longed to be and with this peace be with you all.
