Our condolences to Edelgard and family. We were backyard neighbors in Macungie for several years. We will always remember the year that our street was out of power for days at a time. Fred and Edelgard had power, and they invited us over for a large German breakfast. It was delicious and we had such a nice visit. Please give our love to Edelgard.

Abschied

Hin ist der Lenz, der Sommer weicht,
es zieht der Herbst ins Land;
die Frische der Natur erbleicht,
es faerbt sich ihr Gewand.

Ob Menschendasein, ob Natur,
fort rollt das Rad der Zeit,
und allwaerts zeigt sich klar die Spur
der Weltvergaenglichkeit.

So ist auch hier dahin geschwunden
dein Leben. Und man fast es kaum,
ein Meer voll ernst' und heit'ren Stunden -
und alles scheint nun wie ein Traum.

We are truly saddened to read of Fred's passing. You have our most heartfelt sympathies and condolences. We had so many fun times on Fred's trips and at your parties. We are privileged to have known Fred and you, Edelgard. May your wonderful life's memories be your comfort. He will sincerely be missed by us.

My deepest sympathy and Christian love to the entire family at this time of loss. May the peace of the Risen Christ offer comfort and peace in the days ahead.
