Not sure what to say?

Fritz Fivian was one of my favorite teachers of all time. I was in his German class at RPHS from 1965-1968, until our family moved to California. My new German teacher in California always mentioned that when I was practicing my German, I had a Swiss accent! Herr Fivian was so kind, joyful and inspiring and I am still practicing my German at 70 years of age!

Very sorry to hear about the passing of Mr. Fritz Fivian.

I have fond memories of him as my German teacher and wrestling coach at Lincoln High School in the early 60s.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Time goes so fast, doesn't it? Unfortunately, I didn't hear about your father until right after the funeral. My brother Hugo attended. I can say, without a doubt, that your dad was so loved by all of us ridiculously naive, young Putnam kids. He was a mentor to us. Back in the 70s I might add! Back then he was part of the Putnam staff that made our school one of the finest. There will be a void knowing of his absense, but I know he's looking down still...

Please accept my condolences for your loss. I too, was one of Mr. Fivian's German students at RPHS, and never was a teacher more patient and kind to someone so linguistically impaired. My favorite memory of him was doing the "iron cross" on the rings in the gym. He was impressive to his students in so many ways.

Lisa & Family,
So sorry to hear about your loss.

My sympathy to the Fivian family. Like the others who have signed the guest book, I so enjoyed having Mr. Fivian as my German teacher. He was such a good teacher and kind man. He will be missed!!

With deepest sympathy to Fritz's family. I met him when he first came to the Los Angeles area and was a member of the Swiss Athletic Society of Los Angeles. He was a fine wrestler, good sportsman and a true gentleman. We had many good times practicing Swiss-style wrestling at the Coliseum swimming gymnasium and finishing off the evening at Moser Brothers Swiss Restaurant. I'll never forget the great times we had travelling together on the West Coast to the many Swiss functions. Thanks...

Dear Fivian Family,
It was one of life's great fortunes to have had Mr. Fivian as my German teacher at Putnam H.S. He was an excellent teacher and a fine role model for a young man. He will be missed.

To the Fivian family,

I was one of Fritz's teammates at OSU, wrestling one weight class below him. I had never wrestled in high school and I remember Fritz as kind and gentle man that was always willing to share his considerable knowledge of wrestling. We had both been recently discharged from the armed forces, he in Korea and I with occupation forces in Germany. I had visited Switzerland on a number of occasions during that time and enjoyed discussing those visits with him.
