Not sure what to say?

We will always remember "Auntie Fudge" with fondness and love. She had that twinkle in her eye and a jovial laugh that lit up her face whenever she was entertaining us with stories of our childhood adventures with her and Uncle George. She was a great baker - her chocolate roll cake was not only delicious, but always perfectly symmetrical and her oatmeal cookies had just the right amount of crunch and chewiness. I am so thankful that I was able to visit her shortly before her passing. ...

I have been very fortunate to have a Mom who walked me to kindergarten on the first day of school, ran behind me in the driveway the first time I was able to ride my 2-wheel bike by myself, taught me to drive the family car in the parking lot of Del Monte Shopping Center and was the passenger the first time I drove in street traffic. Many of my firsts with my Mom led to new adventures that were exciting, sometimes a little scary and helped give me the confidence to go out in the world to...

My Mom

I have been very fortunate to have a Mom who walked me to kindergarten on the first day of school, ran behind me in the driveway the first time I was able to ride my 2-wheel bike by myself, taught me to drive the family car in the parking lot of Del Monte Shopping Center (which I found out from her only a few months ago gave her quite a few gray hairs), and was the passenger the first time I drove out in street traffic.

Many of my firsts with my Mom led to new...

Our Auntie and my Sister-In-Law

Fujiko Kodama will be greatly missed.

She was a wonderful mother, as evidenced by the kind, loving, responsible, successful man my cousin Kurt turned out to be. She was a dedicated wife, and friend. I knew her to be a wonderful and generous aunt, a dutiful daughter, and a great sister.

I will always remember Auntie Fudge, as we called her, telling a story, laughing, smiling and enjoying her sisters Itsuko, Eiko, and Etsuko in...

My Auntie

Fujiko Kodama has been an amazing and loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, and aunt. This graceful and strong woman has touched all of us and we will miss her and remember her always. She was Auntie Fudge to me and all my cousins.

I didn't get to see Auntie Fudge very often. Usually it was a short visit, a family vacation or a holiday, but every time it was special to see her. She thoughtfully took the time to do activities and crafts with us kids. She...

To My Sister-In-Law

Dearest Fudge,

I will forever treasure the fond thoughts & memories of you as my big sister-in-law. Your grace, love and enthusiasm were the most gigantic I have ever experienced.

At Thanksgiving of 1976, I was amazed that you would fly down from Monterey with your famously delicious chocolate roll cake sitting on your lap for the entire journey! All your desserts were scrumptious and prize winning to be certain.

Your generous...

To My Big Sister

Dearest Fudge,

When I think back of all the fond memories of you, I feel so grateful to have had the blessing of you as my big sister.

Each time as adults when we reminisced about years gone by, for me the conclusion was always positive affirmation which made me feel loved and proud of our family.

My earliest childhood memories were the many male suitors who visited you and our sister, Itsie at our Arlington home. I had the...

My Big Sister

I have always been very proud to be Fudge's baby sister. She was so pretty and talented and smart and whatever she did, she did well.

Several years ago, I read a book called The Five Love Languages. It discussed five different ways people can express and receive love: words of affirmation; quality time; gifts; acts of service; and physical touch. I feel Fudge expressed her strong love to our family through acts of service and gifts.

I grew up...

My Mom was born Fujiko Hamasaki on 11/14/30 in Los Angeles, CA to her Father, Hiroichi Hamasaki, and Mother, Tsugino Hamasaki. She and her younger sisters Itsuko and Eiko were energetic little girls who loved to entertain their mother and father with songs they were taught by their parents and friends. She was interned in Gila, Arizona during World War II with her parents and younger sisters, and her younger brother Tomohiro. Her youngest sister, Etsuko, was born while her family was...
