What a fine Christan Bishop Stough was - a good model for all of us to emulate. I had the pleasure of meeting Bishop Stough through the National Episcopal Cursillo Seminars, and was impressed by his kindess, gentleness, sense of humor, and his ability to communicate with others about the Lord. I know he will be missed by many! His family is certainly in my prayers!

When I first met Bishop Stough in Alabama I felt he was one of the most Christfilled persons I had ever met. When I served on the National Episcopal Cursillo Committee I had other wonderful opportunities to be with him, I considered myself blessed. To know him was to know a wonderful servant of our Lord.

Our beloved Bishop Stough is gone. It is hard to take in. He was such a loving presence. He was my boss in New York when he was Deputy for the Presiding Bishop's Fund for World Relief at the Episcopal Church Center--late 80s to early 90s. Those were glory years. We were all inspired by him to think creatively, to go visit the people who were hurting, to see them in their context and to minister with humility and with understanding of other cultures. He was a man who made us proud to be...

I had the pleasure of serving with Bishop Stough on a Cursillo team in the diocese of West Tennessee a few years ago and it was truly a blessing to be in his midst. He was a delightful teacher, mentor & friend. He will be sorely missed by his West Tennessee friends.

We are all saddened by the death of our beloved Bishop, husband, father and father-in-law. He gave us so many great memories of his belief in our God, strength when we needed it and encouragement all the time to have faith and believe that the Lord will lead us in the right direction. He left many gifts but to me the greatest gift he left was allowing me to marry his daughter Leslie, and being the father of his three grand- daughters. I know he loved everyone and showed his unconditional love...

We will always remember that very special year when Bishop Stough was our interim dean at St. Mary's Cathedral. He set an example for us of Christian life and leadership, and urged us on when we needed encouragement. Our prayers will be with his family. De Colores!

Leslie - our prayers are with you and your family. What an incredible life your father had - and what a legacy he leaves - you must be very proud - our most sincere sympathy to your family - the Mauro Family
