Not sure what to say?

One of my bonsai beech trees.

Masa was the first person to instruct me in the art of bonsai more than 30 years ago in Tigard. Although he spoke little English, and I spoke no Japanese, his kind and generous manner inspired me to enjoy and pursue a bonsai hobby all these years. I feel blessed to have had the privilege of being mentored by him and am sorry to hear of his passing.

Thank you, Masa, for sharing your knowledge.

Masa-san was an amazing man. He was quiet and unassuming but with a great amount of knowledge that he patiently shared.
He was my 1st bonsai instructor and I used to drive 100 miles each way to study with him.
He was a treasure to the bonsai community and I will be forever grateful for the knowledge he shared with me.
My deepest condolences to his family.
Rest in peace, sensei.

Masa was my first bonsai sensei & I learned a tremendous amount from him. He was always kind & generous in his teachings & had a fun sense of humor. I think of him often & have many fond memories of him.
