Not sure what to say?

I grew up and lived just a few blocks from Maurice in Gainesville Florida. We all went to the same school and Maurice, of course, entertained us with his nimble fingers rushing over the keyboard , always full of energy, and so passionate and excited as he explored the piano as a young, boy . He was older than me but everyone in the school new Maurice and benefited from his gifts. He was my brothers age and one of his best friends through life.
My brother, Bobby Wallace, (Robert George)...

Maurice was a wonderful colleague to me when he came to Calvin Church during my pastorate there. He was always such a bright, happy person, and he infused our choir with that spirit. I am thankful for his life and ministry of music.

Dr. Hinson was a revered mentor and instructor. My piano students all note that I constantly go to his publications for their music. He will
be missed.

What deep gratitude we all feel for knowing Dr. Maurice Hinson! His indomitable spirit and warmth called forth our best as musicians, scholars, and persons. His piano studio door humbly told his current endeavors: international lectures, competitions, concert programs, promo posters and more. Front and center was his ever-ready schedule for us students. "Come in!" Our stories as students and colleagues are sure to be more than his huge office file cabinets could hold. The impact of life...

We have been neighbors of Maurice's for years. He always had one of the most energetic greetings, each and every time we'd speak. Maurice was so sweet and such a gentleman. We will miss him dearly!

He was a dear mentor, a godly example, and a marvelous teacher. Dr. Hinson awakened in me a deep love for the piano and its literature. He communicated the inexpressable joy of learning yet another new piece of beautiful music. He taught me that the church musician is first and foremost a servant of God and His people. "I thank my God upon every remembrance..." Philippians 1:3
