G. Clark Shaffer

Mr. Sheaffer was a memorable and inspiring teacher. He and my father, also a teacher at Heritage Elementary, were good friends so we saw him outside of the classroom as well. I am truly happy that he appears to have lived a long, happy and rewarding life well-deserved. My deepest condolences to his family, I will remember him fondly.

Mr. Shaffer was my 4th grade teacher at Heritage Elementary school in the early ‘70s. I have so many memories, including watching for him to drive past my home in Heritage Park, in his yellow Jeep on his way to & from school!! I struggled terribly with long division. But he was always patient & helped me master it!!
I’m certain he will be deeply missed. I’ll send up prayers for comfort and strength in the difficult times ahead. God bless...

I knew Mr. Shaffer when I was in my pre-teen and teenage years at Cavaliers Country Club and I'm 62 years old now. He was a nice man and a sneaky good golfer. He had a 12 handicap when I knew him but could always shoot 75 or better when it counted. He and the morning group of "sweepers" played every Saturday and Sunday and had a great time together. I'm sure the closing of club in 2020 after being open and active since 1960 broke his heart but gave him a lot of great memories. There are...
