Not sure what to say?

I didn't know Mackey, but I am grateful for his generosity to The Wednesday Music Club in memory of his mother, Meda McNeir Tilman. The Tilman Fund has sent (and continues to send) promising young musicians to music camp IMO Meda through the WMC's Annual Competition. My friend and fellow WMC leader Corky Sablinsky always spoke fondly of Mackey. I know he will be dearly missed!

My deepest sympathies and condolences to the Tilman family, especially Mrs. Tilman, during this very difficult time. The Tilman´s were always very kind to me and supportive of me while I was a student at UVA - I remember some amazing chili at a football tailgate one year. My Dad and Mr. Tilman were lifelong friends, and it's a friendship I know he cherished. Our thoughts and prayers are with Mrs. Tilman and family. My deepest sympathies and condolences to the Tilman family, especially Mrs....

Thinking of you and the girls Nancy. I was heartbroken to hear of your Mackey´,s passing. I heard so many good things about him from van Stella. She loved him. Prayers are with you all

Single Memorial Tree

My deepest condolences on Mackey's passing. Your family has always been so close with ours, as far back as Canterbury Road, and Meda and Tia babysitting Stephen, Heidi and me when we were the age of my young children. Mackey had a knack of uplifting any room he walked into. He had a big smile and gave his undivided attention to everyone, even a little kid like me back in the day. He was a natural connector and had a habit of making people in his orbit feel special. He was a longtime...

Sending my deepest sympathy and my love to Nancy, Meda, Tia and Mackey's entire family. He was such a great guy and will be missed so much by all who knew him. Wish I could be with you. I can honestly say I know what you're going through - having lost my David so suddenly in 2018. Now they are together...I am praying that God gives each of you the strength you need during this very difficult time. With my heartfelt love, Nancy Swann

Mackey has a source of warm smiles or teasing jokes in my life since we were boys. I always liked seeing him. I doubt we´ve ever had a cross word. My sympathies to his family.

Will miss our dear friend, Mackey, but we will cherish warm memories of his big heart, his ability to make friends, his inimitable laugh, his love of life, of people, of his community. Mackey was one of a kind, and we are the richer for having known him. Dick and Mary Howard

Mackey had a warm and generous heart. He loved life, and made everyone around him feel "special". We feel very blessed to have known him as a friend and treasure the memories we shared with him and Nancy over the past 60 years. We will miss him.
