G.C. SMYTHERS, 91, of Kenova, passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2016, at the Wayne Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will be conducted by Minister David Roach at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 20, 2016, at the Reger Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, Kenova....

Mr. Smythers was a delight to encounter each time I met him at the entrance to Wayne Nursing and Rehab. He was welcoming and open, with a sweet, gentle way with people. He was my "boyfriend" and I was his "sweetheart." I will miss him, as will many others who knew him there.
