Not sure what to say?

It is with a great sense of loss that I sign this Guest Book. Mr. Gholson was the principal of my High School - Fairmont Heights (Jr/Sr High) from 1957-1962.

Mr. Gholson was a Renaissance Man who inspired the students to reach for great heights. At a time when Prince George's County was mired in the hatred of racial segregation, Mr. Gholson brought us enlightenment and a vision of a better world. For this I will always be grateful.

Mr. Gholson, today, I am the new Prince...

My name is Nicole Hines and I would like to express my sympathy to the Gholson family as well as the Middle school he is named after. my son attends this school and from what has been said about Mr. Gholson he is one of the best educators ever.God Bless

It was an honor to have had Mr. Gholson as my principal during the time I attended Fairmont Heights High School. May his soul rest in peace with God.
Joeann Countee (Upper Marlboro, MD)

Every student that passed through the halls of Fairmont Heights High will forever remember & benefit from the leadership of Mr. Gholson. He was a dedicated & committed educator who demanded & expected no less than your best. This is a great loss for the community as well as Prince George County Public Schools. My condolences to the family.
Class of 66'

Please accept my heartfelt sympathy to the family of Mr. Gholson at this time of bereavement. I was a student at Fairmont Heights during Mr. Gholsons tenure. I was also privileged to have Mrs. Gholson as my mentor and music teacher during my formative years. The leadership Mr. Gholson displayed, truly embodies the spirit of the adage "Lead By Example". I would also like to express special condolences to Jimmy who was my former class mate.

My condolences to the family of Mr. Gholson. I had the distinct privilege of attending Fairmont Heights High School when Mr. Gholson was principal. Mr. Gholson fostered and demanded no less than academic excellence of every student, and all of us continue to reap the benefits of his leadership. He will be sorely missed. My special expression of condolences to Jimmy who was my classmate. May God bless and console you in this difficult time.

I will always cherish the memory of the last time I saw Mr. Gholson at the Unitarian Church in Annapolis celebrating a tribute to MLF last year. He looked wonderful and his conversation was stimulating, as always. To the family, please accept my sincere condolences.

Jimmy, Sylvia, and Eva,
My sincere condolences on your father's death. As you can imagine, Mr. Gholson was a pivotal person in my life. There are times when I have quoted him while I was raising my own child, and more thimes when I think of him, and all of you with affection for the times we had together.
Love,
Gwen

My deepest sympathy goes out to the family. I attended Fairmont Heights High, from the 7th thru the 12th grade and was a classmate of Eva. I can remember so well, that when Mr. Gholson walked the halls of Fairmont Heights, you better be on a mission. Mr. Gholson was the best, with no other principal after him, doing the things that he did for the community,he truly will be missed.
