Gaddian Bell James Dabon


Gaddian Bell James Dabon, age 85 was born on February 18, 1938 in New Orleans, LA was called home to be with our Lord on Tuesday night, March 14, 2023. Mrs. Dabon was educated in the New Orleans Public School System and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School and attended Dillard University. She also worked at Touro Infirmary and retired after 34 years of service from the United States Post Service. Gaddian was the loving mother of Patrick Dabon, Sr. (Christian), Jules Dabon, Jr. (Gerda), Debra D. Williams (Keith), Juanita Jackson (Charles), and Alvin Riley. Devoted sister of Paul James. Beloved mother-in-law of Joshua Higgins. She was also survived by 20 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Jules Lucien Dabon, Sr; her parents Herbert A. James, Sr. and Marguerite G. James; her children Wanda Dabon-Mitchell, Sharon Dabon-Higgins and Charles Riley, Sr; her siblings Herbert A. James, Jr., Theodore James, Sr. and Estelle J. Chatman-Benoit; and her grandchildren Keith Williams II and Chasity Dabon-Singh. Relatives and friends of the family, also priest and parishioners of St. David Roman C.C. are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, April 21, 2023 at St. David Roman Catholic Church, 5617 St. Claude Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70117 at 10:00 a.m. Father Oswald Pierre-Jules SSJ, Celebrant. Interment Mount Olivet Cemetery & Mausoleum, 4000 Norman Mayer Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70122. All those in attendance are required to wear a face mask.
