Beloved Mother, Grandmother, and GG Gail A. (Drake) Anthony, 84, died Friday at home. Born in Holyoke, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Margaret (Brady) Drake, grew up in South Hadley and has lived in Belchertown for 11 years. Gail was a member of Life Point Church in Chicopee, was a kindergarten teacher at a Christian School, and sang in the choir for many years. She also was a Brownie and Girl Scout leader, bible time teacher where she shared her love for the Lord, and a day care volunteer. Most of all, Gail’s family was her life. She loved to spoil her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be remembered for her wonderful stories and songs that she loved to share with everyone. She was predeceased by her husband Herbert E. Anthony, sister Lois Boyer and brother Edward Drake. She leaves two daughters Linda Racine and her husband Ray of South Hadley and Robin Mongeon and her husband Chris of Belchertown, four grandchildren Courtnie James and her husband Dave, Currin Walz and her husband Tim, Katie Sicard and her husband Nick and Blake Mongeon, eight great grandchildren Roman, Weston and Landon James, Soraya, Arianna and Gabriel Walz and Nora and Grant Sicard, a nephew David Boyer of ME and a niece Joyce Beaupre of Granby. A funeral home service will take place Wednesday November 1st at 6:00 pm at the O’Brien Family Funeral Home, 33 Lamb Street, South Hadley. Calling hours will precede the service on Wednesday from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 309 Waverly Oaks Dr., Waltham, MA 02452.
