Send Flowers

Passed away peacefully on August 5, 2009 at age 66 after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. Gail was born December 11, 1942 in Los Angeles to Melvin and Vera Margolin and moved to San Francisco where she met the love of her life, Mike Carr, when the two were sophomores. Gail graduated from Lowell High School in 1960 and moved to Petaluma in 1970. Mike and Gail had 51 wonderful years together and cherished every minute of it. They traveled all over the U.S. and Canada and made the most of their time together. Gail loved animals and volunteered at the Petaluma Animal Shelter. She was also a devoted mother to Susan and Julie and a loving Nana to Brooke Long. Organized, detail-oriented, and meticulous, Gail impressed every employer she ever had. As a neighbor and friend, Gail always had an "open door" policy and was quick to offer tea and a sympathetic ear or a silly joke to bring a smile to others. Gail was gracious, kind, and always put others' needs before hers. She was a wonderful woman and loved by so many. Gail will be missed by her husband Mike; daughters Susan Collins and Julie Long; granddaughter Brooke Long, and all whose lives she touched. Not sure what to say?

We always joked about being "sisters", but if it had been true I can't imagine having a better sister than Gail. She was smart and funny and kind and I remember with a smile every moment we had together.
