Gail L. Gates (79) formerly of Montrose, PA went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 7th, 2022 after a short battle with cancer. She was the daughter of the late Walter and Elva Wickizer.
Gail was always up for an adventure. After retirement, she and her husband, Joe traveled and lived in their RV. While traveling, they also worked as campground hosts in various states which included FL, AL, GA, SC, and TX. They also spent 3 months traveling out west.
Gail was predeceased by her brother Joe Wickizer, her first husband, Lewis Wood, and a daughter, JoAnn Marie Wood. Gail is survived by her husband of 42 years, Joseph Gates, Sr., her children, Lewis (Shari) Wood- Yoakum, TX, Hank (Linda) Wood-Montrose, PA, and Hope (Matt) McGarrigle-Monroe, NC. Stepchildren: Tessie (George) Bozzo-NC, Joe Gates, Jr.-AL, Donnie (Jackie) Gates-PA, and Kandi Kane-PA. Gail is also survived by a brother, Tim (Vicki) Wickizer-Montrose, PA; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces & nephews, great nieces & nephews, and cousins.
A Memorial service will be planned in the spring.
