Gail passed away on Wednesday, October 31, 2018. Gail was a resident of Michigan at the time of passing. Gail's visitation will be held Friday, November 2nd, from 1pm-8pm at McCabe Funeral Home, 31950 W. 12 Mile Rd., Farmington Hills. Her Funeral Service will be Saturday, November 3rd, at 11am at Franklin Community Church, 26425 Wellington Rd., Franklin, MI 48025. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to The Purtan Family Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation in her name.

I have enjoyed listening to Dick since I was a teenager and he was on WKNR. I listened each time Gail was pregnant and anxiously listened for their new arrivals. Listeners were able to watch the girls grow and enjoy the family successes. This is a huge loss but how lucky are they to be surrounded in love and wonderful memories.

Knowing Jill and her lovely family .I remember sitting with Gail In the back of the room quietly at St Fabian Catholic School while her husband Dick gave a very nice history speech to the 6th grade kids about the civil war . I had done some work for the Purtans years ago. I remember the first time I met her at their home in Bloomfield Hills. I commented on how polite and well mannered the girls were and she looked at me with this puzzled face! She said "only because you're here". After years of seeing this family I know that really wasn't true. Her daughters have proven that. She was an amazing person. She always had kind words and a smile every time I was there.
