Not sure what to say?

I only just caught up with this but want to say that Gail was an awesome friend, mentor, and voice of wisdom for me throughout our journey as Ph.D. students in English at Harvard. I remember her with great fondness for her compassion, unerring insight, tact, and kindness.

"Tiny woggle, soft and sweet," you are always remembered. [This was one of Gail's favorite phrases.]

I will miss my dear cousin Gail, whose sparkling wit and erudite voice brought smiles to her listeners. She was fierce in her loyalties.

Gail hired me to help organize her files in 1980 when I was a grad student at the Fogg. We became lifelong friends. Funny, wise, humane, tolerant - a lovely human being. Robert Baldwin (860) 739-7728

Dear Family of Gail, I am so sorry to learn of the recent death of Gail. She was truly a remarkable woman who contributed much to help beautify our world.
