Not sure what to say?

I came here as I was reflecting on my life. I was remembering the time I almost died, and remembering Dr. Gamil Takla, who saved me. I won't go into details, but I was very, very close to death when Dr. Takla walked into the room. He wasn't the first doctor I had seen that day in the emergency room, but the other doctors didn't see something that Dr. Takla did. Within minutes, I was in surgery, then 2 weeks in ICU, and a total of 7 weeks at St. Vincent in the close care of Dr. Takla. I...

I loved Tak very much.
I will always give Tak the credit and appreciation for the many ways he blessed my (and my children’s) lives.
I thank God for bringing him into my life, even if it was for a much to short period of time.
He once gave me a book and his personal inscription in it said: “because we share”. That meant a lot to me. We did share together a short time in our lives. I will forever remember him as a giant in my heart. He was a wonderful man.

Dear Ev,
I am currently in South Africa but I remember working many hours with you at GSH when you were in SS and I was in PACU. I send my condolances to you as I had no idea what a legend you lived with and what a loss this must be to you. I always enjoyed our time as co -workers. PPlease know i hold you in my heart. While I never knew your husband, I see he was worthy of you.

Dr. Takla and I began our "American careers" together, in 1963. I worked with him on my very first job out of nurses training, at St. Vincent's ER, and he looked exactly like the picture on the right. He was one of the best mentors one could ever hope to work with!

He came back into my life several years ago when I was working in an ER. At that time, I was fortunate to "bump" into him on several occasions when he came to the ER to examine patients and we were able to talk about...

We were very saddened to hear of Dr. Takla's death. We admired him as a doctor and was one of the best men we ever knew. Our lives were better for having known him and having him for a physician.

I was saddened to hear of Takla's passing. I have special memories of him from our Beaverton Rotary and MAC days. And I remember the 1966 Chevy as well as our Rotary trip to Europe. He will be missed.

Dear Shadya & Victor, mom and I are so glad that we were able to attend the memorial for your dad. The memorial was very poignant and I along with many of your friends and family, have loving memories of a father who dearly loved his children and grandchildren - - like my own dad. I promise you that the pain and grief lessens, but the memories last forever.
Hugs,
Mim
