In the late 1960s and early 1970s, I was one of the teenagers that cruised the stripe - East Nettleton Avenue. Gar, as he was known to me and my friends, owned a drive in restaurant. I spent a lot of time there and Gar was one of the best friends a young man could have. He made my world better. I have traveled all over the world since I lived in Brookland & Jonesboro.
