Garnett Ersiel Phibbs

I was a small boy when I first met Garnett, and what an influence he had on my entire life. He nicknamed me "PREACH". and called me by that name for over 50 years. I beleive he was trying to give me a hint!
I learned much from Garnett and will miss his honesty, his loyal devotion to his friends in Bassett, Virginia, and that great smile and laugh.
I am so thankful he came into my life, and a much better person because he did!

A man who influenced me tremendously in my growth toward feeling the desire for God to guide my actions in life, from the mid 1940s until last week. His spirit and training will continue until my own physical death.
