Not sure what to say?

Always enjoyed Garry's column. He always replied to my e-mail questions. He was the reason why I bought the Springfield Newspaper!! God rest your soul, Garry !! Thanks for all that you shared !!

My condolences to the entire Brown Family. Although I never met Garry, I always enjoyed hearing the stories Conlan would tell me about him. His passion and love of sports is alive and well in his grand kids, who I have no doubt will continue to pass it on for generations to come.

Please know how much we players of the Smith Academy Western Mass basketball Champions (1960/1961) appreciated Garry´s participation in our recent Zoom meetings. He always seemed to have a soft spot for our teams and this encouragement spurred us on to greater heights. I will never forget his generosity of time to help the Town of Hatfield celebrate it´s 350th Birthday with it´s greatest sports team ever. My scrapbooks are filled with all his articles and my grandchildren will enjoy them...

Deepest condolences to the Entire Brown family. An outstanding reporter and fantastic man. His columns will be missed by everyone. May he rest in peace.

My Condolences to the entire Brown family. Will miss Hitting to all fields. On May 13th sent Gary a note saying it was 39 years to the day when I made his column. He was amazed that I remembered one line in his column. He well remembered covering those Tuesday afternoon basketball games at LHS. " Usually a blowout for the Lancers "

To the Brown family. Iam so sorry for your loss. Gary was a great friend to my brother Carl Beane. As a kid I always read Gary's columns especially hitting to all fields. Carl told me everytime Gary put something in a column about the Boston Bruins it was a wink to me. I feel a great loss in Gary's book he dedicated a chapter about my brother and the fun they had. When I bought his book he wrote a great passage about Carl. So long Gary RIP. Say hi and have a catch with Carl .

On behalf of my dad who passed in January of 2021. Garry was a great friend to my dad Eddie Kijek. My dad loved baseball and Garry was always there to interview and/or include pictures of my dad with all the baseball greats that he managed to meet in his days with the Red Sox in Fort Meyers. Thank you Garry for being such a great friend to my dad. I´m sure my dad was waiting to tell Garry about all the legends he has met in heaven. R.I.P Mr. Brown.

We wanted to send our sincere condolences to Mary and the entire Brown family. Garry will be truly missed most importantly as a friend, but also as an extension of our Burke family during his 7 decades of incomparable work covering Western MA sports, including the Red Sox. He was such a wonderful human being, and so respected from everyone across the board. Rest In Peace, Garry. Daniel Burke, David Burke, Kevin Burke, Patrick Burke & Carolyn Burke

Happy to have inducted Garry into the 2021 Agawam High School Sports Hall of Fame and greatful for all of his contributions
