Not sure what to say?

I am deeply saddened to hear this news. Garry was my best friend from the 2nd grade through high school. We hung out together every day at Carmel River School. His family was wonderful. There are people in your childhood who shape who you are and what you become. Garry was one of those people. I miss you Garry. So much.

When I hear Mark Knoffler, I will think of you. When I roast a turkey,I will think of you. When I need a reality check, I will not only think of you, but I will have a smile on my face knowing that you put it there.

Peace,
I love you and I miss you,
Terri

It was with tremendous sorrow and shock that I heard of Garry's passing. It was only a few months ago that he and I reconnected through mutual friends on a social networking website after a hiatus of over two and a half decades. It was pleasure to experience in those exchanges the same quirky wit and exuberant charm that enlivened the times we shared at school in Monterey. It grieves me that we will not have the opportunity to catch up further. My sincere condolences to his family and to...

I knew Garry best as "chef" and had the opprotunity to cook with him at four different restaunts. Garry's ability to love through his passion for food was unsurpassed. Garry truly was a mentor to many. He lived out loud was never afraid to express his passions. My life has truly been blessed by knowing him. Garry will live on in many. Thank you chef.

Dear Garry,
Your wake on Sunday was a beautiful celebration of a very rich life.
I'm sure you were there smiling and drinking with all of your good friends and family. We will miss you.

I only knew Garry for a brief time, but I remember his face vividly from York School. I am sorry for our loss and know that as he made a place here on Earth and he will make a place in heaven~His spirit is strong.

Goodness, even though it has been many years since I saw Garry, I was thinking of him just a couple of weeks ago.
I had the pleasure of working with him at Brumby's. We always had a great time. Later, it was my pleasure to enjoy his culinary talents at Fresco.

Garry was a big man with a heart to match. I will treasure my memories.
Thank you, Garry, for the life you lived.

It's been my pleasure getting to know Gary as one of my students the past several months.
Gary jumped in with with full passion and was excited about working with computers. He was obviously a gifted student.
We will all miss him up at Salt Lake Community College.

The news of Garry's death shocked and saddened us. It is no kind of hyperbole to say that if it weren't for him we would have never met. Garry was that rare breed of artist: brilliant in his areas of endeavor, willing to share his gifts freely with all knew, yet possessed of a sense of self-awareness and humor that so many of us lack. We were honored to be Garry’s friends and, in the past, his collaborators. He touched so many with his talent for cooking, music, and other areas. The...
