Read MoreI returned to Collinsville in 1999 and met Garth downtown. I didn't know him closely but he was one of those one of kind people that you can tell would give his shirt off his back if you needed it. A rare person that you don't come across to often. I have learned from him and am grateful to have had a few conversations and laughs with him.
And that laugh I won't forget. My heart goes out to his family.

I will miss Garth so much! Without him, I could not have taken care of the former Collins Company Axe Factory buildings. I enjoyed our many conversations, he led such an interesting life and made many friends along the way. His spirit will always be here in Collinsville.
