I was shocked this morning when I read the paper and found that Garth had passed. We had some fun times in high school, and he was truly one of the 'good guys'. My deepest sympathy goes out to his family during this difficult time. We were all better people for having spent time with Garth and we should treasure the memories with him.

I will always remember Garth's generosity. When I was first in the coffee business he always made time for my questions and to share samples and information about his projects in coffee countries. He was one of my first friends in coffee, a fine mentor, and a great example.

I am very sorry to hear of Garth's passing. We all have many good memories of him at Hillsboro High School class of 1965. It sure was a blessing that you both could come up to our combined 65th class birthday party in 2012.
May God give you a peace during this time, Yvonne Yeager Kresal

My condolences to Garth's family. Garth and I went to grade school and high school together and had a lot of fun times in North Plains. I am in awe of Garth's experiences and accomplishments, especially his work with the small coffee producers. He will be missed.
