Not sure what to say?

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I just became aware of Gary's passing this past weekend and I wanted to let you know I am so very shocked to hear of this. We didn't know he had been ill. I have lost a relative I really didn't know and that leaves a large hole in my life that cannot be filled. What I did know of him was all good even if he and I did disagree on some political issues. I respected him for the way he did not waiver in what he believed to be right. I lost a very close cousin...

Your grief is our grief, too! We've been like family all these years and now part of that family is missing. Gary made memories for us that will comfort us at this sad time. And part of him will live on in each of you. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Kim,
I wanted to extend my sympathy to you and your family at this devastating time. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Thank you for being there for my brother, Jason, and I during the loss of our father in middle school. Lean on God as your strong tower for comfort and peace! Your father is now an Angel and will be with you always. Keep his memory alive by telling Olivia about her wonderful grandfather. Take care.

Gary and I were best friends and did a lot of interesting things together until we got married and went our separate ways. He was our Best Man for our wedding. I will cherish the memories of our times together.

We would like to take this opportunity to express our deepest sympathy to "Mim" and her family. Gary was such a neat guy and we enjoyed the time spent with both of you on the bus trips to Wheeling and also our get-togethers from time to time after that. Gene had the pleasure of working back at PADE with Gary as well. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you... He will be missed!

Gary Altland was my brother. He was my older brother who i fought with as a child and loved as an adult. He will be missed greatly.

I knew Gary as the father of my sister-in-law, Missy. I will always remember him as an incredibly friendly, happy and engaging man. It was always a pleasure to see him. Nick, JD and I extend our deepest condolences to Miriam, Missy, Dave, Cheyenne, Kim, Doug and Olivia. May your fond memories help comfort you at this difficult time.
