Bless the family of this clever Man. We enjoyed his obituary very much . He had to be a joy to be around.

Family of Gary Astill, I sort of feel like I have lost a brother, since I have felt very close to the Astill family for more than 60 years. My best friend is Jerry, Gary´s younger brother. Gary was such a talented man. I really respected his ability to build or fix anything, plus his amazing wit. He was always so under control and so full of wisdom. I will miss him. We have lost a great man.

I met Gary years ago and helped him sell his rental house on Kensington. I enjoyed working with him and getting to know him and Dorothy all those years ago. I have stayed in touch with Gary over the years and ad loved talking with him. Happy you are now with Dorothy.

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived. He always wore a smile at the newspaper agency where we worked. I never heard a complaint; I heard him laugh; and enjoy life. I remember the 50 lb. plates for the press, and typesetter in the old days.
