SOUTH BOARDMAN - Gary Nelson Ball, 67, of South Boardman, formerly of Haslett, passed away suddenly on Dec. 24, 2005. Gary was born in Lansing on Jan. 24, 1938, the son of Leon and Gatha Ball.
Gary was an avid "Ski Doo" snowmobiler and moved to the South Boardman area three years ago upon retirement from Western & Southern Insurance. He loved to hunt, fish and spend time with his family.
Gary is survived by his wife, Nancy; two sons, Mark (Deb) of Houghton Lake and Tim (Linda) of Traverse City; daughter, Pam (Pat) Heller of Lansing; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
In accordance with Gary's wishes, cremation has taken place.
A memorial will take place Monday, Jan. 2, from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Community Room at the Grange Acres Retirement Community in Haslett.
Contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be directed to the Humane Society, Meals on Wheels, or a charity of choice.
Arrangements are being handled by Burkhead-Green Funeral Home of Charlotte. Interment will be at Bosworth Cemetery in Olivet at a later date.
