Not sure what to say?

To Gary's Family:
Just heard about your loss and am so sorry. Gary was a great guy and good son to Anne and Dale. I went fishing with Anne and Gary in Mexico for a week at a time years ago. He was the best...
Joan Holt (Gary' parents friend)

I will always remember Gary as a kind, caring and wonderful person who was always looking out for other people and who was someone who always wanted to make a positive contribution. I am grateful that I was able to go to Tahiti and Namotu with Gary and spend time with such deep and soulful person. He also showed me the path to Yoga to help me overcome back pain and stifness and I have embraced this practive ever since. I will always carry your smile and kind words.

I didn't know Gary and his family well enough - but to me, he was the guy who knew EVERYTHING about the history of French Field and Vista American Little League. My picture memory of him is of him riding that fantastic lawn mower at the fields - I am not sure it really ever worked right, but somehow he made it last. He took care of everything there that most people took for granted - a thankless job that he performed without a negative word or complaint. He never looked for accolades, I think...

I was very shocked to her that a good friend of mine has passed before his time. Gary was a kind person in which I shared similar interests. I first met Gary at French Field where he was a devoted volunteer coach for the Angels(along with Phil Salazar)in which I beleive he didn't even have a child of his own on the team. To top off his dedicated spirit, Gary spent many hours of his own spare time, taking care of a field that alot of my friends have very fond memories of. Now that's something...

Denise,
So sorry to hear about Gary. He was a good person. It is a mystery to me why things like this happen to good people. All we can do is remember the good times and vow never to forget our friendships.
Best of Wishes to the family.

Condolences to the family of Gary, I read his obituary this morning and felt compelled to write. I lost my husband suddenly also, last May 2010. We were married almost 21 years and he left behind two kids, a daughter and a son. My husband was also a surfer.
I find solace in the belief that he is now surfing the best waves ever, and not just on weekends but everyday. My brother-in-law was visting by him in a dream and he told him "Its like the best day surfing everyday".
